Barcelona to see Coldplay

Back in December last year the waiting was over. Finally the tour dates of Coldplay were out and we decided to go for Barcelona. First of all, because we never were there before and always had it on our bucket list, but secondly also because it matched nicely with our wedding day, so we could actually celebrate our 14th anniversary with Coldplay as our party band 😉

After having finished work in the Hotel lounge, we went to the concert. We had a nice taxi driver telling us a lot about Barcelona and showing us a bit around on our way to the Olympic stadium. It was really a nice drive with him, he was struggling so much to find the right words, but in the end he always got the things across and we had a great time together.

Finally at the venue, the crowd is getting bigger.

It was a great concert and we enjoyed every minute of it. That’s what I call celebration of a wedding anniversary…

What a great party…

We started off the second day with a short run along the shore. It was obvious, that the people here in Spain are no early birds… We had the whole track for us alone.

Being out before the crowd…

After the run, work was on again. After finishing this, we went for a long tourist bus ride, riding with all the three lines right after each other and watching out for the places we wanted to visit the next day to take a deep dive …

Of course, you shouldn’t miss Gaudi

And the Sacrada Familia…

On our third day we decided to walk around the places we found on our bus trip and to have a closer look especially at the Gothic Quarter. Not taking the Rambler into account it is a very beautiful area of Barcelona, with nice cafés, tapas bars, beautiful buildings and a lot of life.

One of the many tapas bars in the Gothic quarter.

Beautiful squares as a relaxing area in a busy town like Barcelona.

Nice buildings and a relaxed atmosphere in the city center.

We rounded up the day with a drink on the beach and a good dinner in the evening.

The next morning we headed to the airport again on our way back home. Barcelona was really something we are happy we didn’t miss and the Coldplay concert was fantastic. We saw so many things in Barcelona which we would like to explore further, so we are sure that this was not the last time we are visiting this great town.
